

Steve Carubba has worked extensively in the advertising community for companies, such as FCB Reynolds, Roche Macaulay and was with Ogilvy & Mather for more than seven years. After, he started his own recruiting agency for the marketing industry in 1998 called Six Degrees Recruiting Inc. His company primarily focused on senior management employees.
Existing Internet employment services lacked the relevant focus to help marketing candidates and marketing employers find a compatible match or lead. In addition, the existing physical recruiting agencies paid little attention to junior and mid-level employees, as the revenue was not as lucrative as recruiting senior management.
The objective was to create a resource centre where junior to mid-level candidates and marketing agencies could find the information and tools they need to not only find the appropriate match but to also understand the marketplace.
Within two months of its launch, 50 industry-leading companies had joined and 500 marketers had posted their resumes. The service is currently poised to expand into the United States.

The site provides the ability for employers and candidates to post and edit their respective information. They can access the database using multiple search variables in order to make the process as convenient and personalized in finding the appropriate match. The site creates further relevant utility through relational tools, such as allowing people to nominate acquaintances for positions as well as offering a mentoring program – all in the first phase of the site’s development. By creating an extensive backend to monitor usage patterns, the site can evolve its offering in a valuable manner to both employers and candidates. By being fully e-commerce enabled, the site is self-sufficient.
